Is there a way to interact with the Lt Kernal LU images from the linux desktop (so files can be dragged / dropped)? Something like Windows DIRMaster or otherwise?

Not really, what I do is setup a "muxed" system, I set up a full emulation which shares the "drive" but on a different port, so the BBS is port 0 the second system is port 1, you can do anything you want with it. Just be careful writing to the same LU that the BBS might be writing to at the same time. If you want I can share my config files and .sh files in Linux here so everyone can see how it is done. They can easily be crossed over to Windows..
