Logout ineffective when in sub-menus

Noticed this twice tonight: once when on Genetic-Point BBS and then on my BBS. When in a sub-module (NF/SB/ETC), logout command acts like it's going to work for a user, but then spits them back to the sub-module command prompt.

Steps to recreate:

  • user from MAIN goes to News/Info (NF)
  • (in my step, I read a bulletin)
  • user types "O" to logout
  • System responds, Logoff (yes)?
  • User confirms yes, logoff
  • System goes back to the NF command prompt.

At genetic-point BBS, I observed this at the Sub-Board command prompt.

My version is 3.0 (2.3L). Codetsu advertises he is running 3.0 on the BBS as well.

Ok, after playing with this, I remembered a conversation I had with X-Tec back in around 2020 and yes, there really is no way around this issue. Every sub-system is just that a sub-system when called it is a sub-routine, and when exiting it RETURN's to the main prompt. Now there are some cheesy ways I can change this to work, but i would not want to do it that way. O! and O% do work. If I figure out a work around, I will post it..

That makes sense. Save the stack from losing a few plates.

Hmm... when you talk about my BBS then
Please note that there may be some very special settings there and they may not follow Image's rules, I'm pretty desperate with this and willing to try whatever comes to mind to get BBS working
