Leave Sysop Message (Sysop not getting them??)

New user is in application and gets to "Leave Sysop a message?" - user selects yes and leaves message.

At sysop login, View Feedback is not registering message and sysop has no email.

I'm in the SYSOP file and I believe I captured the steps in setup to ensure feedback is given to me.

What did I miss?

Instead of deleting it lets use this as a learning experience for other sysOp's. This is an excellent question. When a new user logs in, the user answers all the questions and the file that that info is saved to is e.new, this file can be ready via the VF command in Local mode.Upon entering the View Feedback section you will see many different options, Feedback, New Users, Error Log, Telecheck Can Msgs, Arch. New Users Scratch files, and Watchdog Files. 

If a user leaves you feedback you will find it here the white numbers show the amount of messages you have. Just hit F to read them. Same goes for New Users, etc.

Archive new users saves the e.new file into a archived list of ALL new users you archive, this can be useful if you ever want to go back to a users new user questionaire. 

Can msgs are messages you can send to users to answer common questions etc. I used to use this to send responses to NISSA Member applications, and a few other things.

Watchdog Files, this was originally a Wrong Number only modification in 1.2 but when I sent the 2.0 Files to X-Tec back in 15 I didn't remove them. So unless you knew what they did it was something that was pretty much useless. What these files are is a log viewer of certain logs, such as the Network error log, Email sent between users, Netsub tracking log, and who uses ZZ, so if you have a co-sysop and he/she goes into ZZ you will know. On my system I have other logs which I have added to it like I had in my v1.2.

Ok that is VF and it's uses..

Everything on this forum is like @Bucko said, it is a resource to help those now and in the future.  The questions & problems addressed on here with Image BBS are real world and unique situations in some cases that you just never know when they will apply to someone down the road. 

That is one of the biggest reasons 8-Bit Boyz came about, a place to offer help, support, resources (files, manuals, etc..) to those in need.  Yes, there is archive.org for much of this, much like google forums, etc.  But there is no guarantee those services will be available in the future, as it is archive.org is in constant fights lately to keep much of what they have available for reasons.  What’s to say 8-Bit Boyz won’t be here in the future also, well again I feel having multiple resources for knowledge gives the future users better odd's finding the solution to what they are looking for. 

With all that said, rest assured 8-Bit Boyz is NOT going anywhere and is not controlled by a committee or corporation, it has in place a very long life ahead.  There are big plans in (slow) motion to keep growing 8-Bit Boyz and well we have also become a well-known resource for anything Image BBS so there is no backing down now. HAHA

Plus, lately there has been a notable surge in new folks getting back into the Commodore computer and BBSing so your post on here is just one of the many that will help someone when they google a question and are directed to a forum post that was resolved on here.  It’s so cool to know everyone is part of the solution!
