Why can't I see the posts in my subs?

-- This happens for a couple of reasons, first if you are not on the network and this happens make sure the Left side of NET is NOT checked. If it is turn it off.  If you are apart of the network, nm.origin has not been created. You can download the latest BBS on a Stick project and use the Plus files from that on your BBS and create the nm.origin from either going into IM and then network config and choosing the last option create nm.origin, or run i.NM/config from the latest Stick files and choose the last option and create nm.origin.  There is also a copy of i.origin on the Stick project which you can run to create it.

I can't stress this enough, make sure you are running the latest fix files. They are dated 12/31/24 and can be downloaded from Facebook or my website. The reason I mention this is because a lot has changed since the original release in December of 2020! The easiest way to tell if you are running the latest files is upon bootup the IM revision number will be dated 12/21/24 and your copyright message upon a connection to the BBS will say 2025!

Does the BBS on a Stick come complete with the latest fixes?

Yes, plus more! The Stick project is based on the original 12/20 release files with each fix pack from every year installed. When X-Tec releases a fix pack (usually on 12/31) I install all the fixes he made to keep the project up to date. In addition to X-Tec's fixes, I include changes I make which I think the new sysOp or old will appreciate having. These fixes/changes are usually just to make life easier on the sysOp. The last few I did was adding in the nm.origin creation inside of NM/auto and the IM network config settings. These are only available on the Stick project. Another change I made recently was changing the Swiftlink/User port question on creating a new BBS from where it was after all questions were asked and file creation began. Now it is all done together.

Just a heads up, I will be releasing v2.4 of the BBS on a Stick project in the next couple of weeks. It will include all of the latest fixes by X-Tec as of 12/31/25 in addition to some changes I have made to the base system. 

In addition to this, I have decided to go with a serialization system on it now. A little background. In 1988 New Image Software went with serial numbers on the release of Image 1.0, the reason was to help prevent piracy of the software. It worked really well. What I am doing is changing the BBS on a Stick project to Email Ware and using a serial number to customize each copy that is running out there. Right now the project from the beginning has been downloaded hundreds of times if not thousands of times. I can tell you about 3 or 4 that I know are running. This has always bothered me as I had no idea who was running it and for that matter have no list of BBS'. So I have decided to start email ware, if you download it and put it online, just email me your BBS Name, FQDN and your handle. That's all I want, in return I will send you a new ML 3.0 which will have your very own serial number in it. The release of the stick will have a S# UNREG in the login message along with BBS On a Stick Version, if you don't want that or the serial number, email me the above info and i will send you a stock ML 3.0 which just says the copyright year and the title of the software, what I want to do is put together a list of BBS' running the Stick project and post that list to advertise YOUR BBS! I don't care if your BBS is in the states or in Europe. Send me the info and I will put it on the list which will be advertised on Facebook and my logoff screen, I will also post the list on the PC BBS' FTN networks. So it is a win win for all involved. The serial number gives you a personalized BBS, and I get to know how many BBS' of my project are running.
