What it does
DEVSW++ is a Commodore 64 program that finds every drive on the IEC bus and lets you change its device number from the keyboard.
It scans devices 8–30, names what answered (CMD HD/FD/RAMLink, uIEC/sd2iec, 1541/1571/1581, Ultimate virtual Drive A/B, piCMD, Reccreation Drives), then:
- changes a devices number
- SWAP 8 / SWAP 9 / return-to-default like the button on a CMD HD or FD
- swaps any two drives even if neither has a SWAP button
- makes a uIEC/sd2iec device number change temporary (U0>) or permanent (XW)
- turns Ultimate Drive A or B on or off through UCI
When you quit to BASIC the program leaves memory. The new device numbers stay on the drives.
SoftIEC is not supported. Leave it off.
Zip is the D64 plus the user manual.
