BBSes are a return to the past, just like our favorite time travel movie. BTTTFBBS is a playground for Linux and Python experiments. Features a dial-out modem (call out to dial-up BBSes or information services), some local and networked games, and whatever features the sysop feels like developing.
Originally a Wildcat 4/5 board ran overnights on dial-up from 1996-1999, Backwood Realm BBS has been online since September 2008. We host a reasonably active LORD game, plus several other vintage doors. Board is a springboard for development for the SysOp, and includes some custom programs including RealmIM group chat door, coded in QuickBasic 4.5 with supporting apps in C#, and more hobby coded toys to come. Always a work in progress, but a lot of fun.
The Basement BBS was originally online from 1986 through 1998. The BBS was run on an Atari 800XL. On July 4, 2017, the Basement BBS returned online via telnet. The version that you can now telnet to was pieced together with backup floppy disks from 1990 through 1993.
The BBS includes restored messages/message bases from 1990 through 1993, some restored file sections, 21 online games, and lots of customization.
For best results, log in with an Atari 8-bit or a telnet client that supports ATASCII (Atari Mode). One such client is Syncterm. Syncterm is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS/X, etc. You can download Syncterm here.
The Basement's telnet address is: basementbbs.ddns.net port 9000 (IP Address: 24.22.120.147 port 9000).

BeeBS is a BBS running a version of OBBS (1984) I have modified to be hayes compatible running on an Acorn BBC Micro (1986). For PC users it is standard ASCII terminal emulation at 9600 baud 8n1 (40 column), for BBC Micro users it is 40 Column Mode 7 colour.
It is not online 24/7 but its online status can be checked via the website.

Boar's Head runs on Holy Moses modded C*Base v3.1 on a Commodore 64 passed a TCPSER TCP/IP-serial bridge called Tannhauser Gate.
Online since January 1984, (with minor deviations), the Boot Factory has been running in Richmond VA for years... first as an Atari 8-bit BBS (1984-88), next as a PC BBS running in Fidonet (from 1988-1996) and then back on an Atari 8-bit emulator (since 1999). We were an original beta tester for BBS:Express v1.0 back in 1986. Also home of the original 'BBS on a stick' back in 2008 with 2 different released stick systems; BBS:Express v1.0 and Carina v2.7... both Atari 8-bit systems running on the a800win emulator on a PC.
